Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDFs are merged entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Between 2 and 20 PDFs, up to 50 MB each and 200 MB in total. Very large files need more memory, so on phones and older devices merging fewer or smaller files works best.

Will the quality of my pages change?

No. Pages are copied as they are — not converted to images — so text stays sharp and selectable, and each page keeps its size and orientation.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not yet. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs can’t be merged. Remove the protection in a PDF app you trust, then add the file again.

What isn’t carried over to the merged PDF?

The pages and what’s printed on them are kept. Document-level extras may be lost or stop working, including bookmarks, fillable form fields, digital signatures, attachments and document properties such as the title and author.

What happens if one of the files is damaged?

The file is rejected with a message that names it — when you add it, or when merging if the problem only shows up then. No merged PDF is created with pages missing, and your other files stay in the list so you can remove the damaged one and try again.
