Longer content makes a denser code that’s harder to scan. Test the code with your phone before printing it.

How to use QR Code Generator

  1. 1

    Choose the content

Pick Website, Text, Email, Phone or Wi-Fi and enter the details. Website links need https:// (or http://). “Load example” fills in a sample.

  2. 2

    Customise

Choose 256, 512 or 1024 px, the colours and the error-correction level (L, M, Q or H). A warning appears if the colours may be hard to scan.

  3. 3

    Download and test

Download a PNG at the chosen size or an SVG for print, then scan it with your phone before you share or print it.

Frequently asked questions

Do the QR codes expire?

No. These are static QR codes: your content is stored in the code itself, so they keep working permanently and don’t depend on our site.

Which download formats are available?

PNG at 256, 512 or 1024 pixels for everyday use, and SVG — a vector image that stays sharp at any size — for print and design work.

Can I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Yes. Enter the network name, password and security type to create a code that phones can use to join the network. The password is stored in the code as plain text, so anyone who scans it can see it.

What does error correction mean?

Error correction lets a QR code still scan when part of it is damaged or dirty. L recovers about 7%, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30% — higher levels make the code denser.

Why is my QR code hard to scan?

Long content makes a denser code with smaller squares. Keep the content short, use dark squares on a light background with strong contrast, print it large enough and keep the white border around it.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. QR codes are created in your browser — your links, text and Wi-Fi details aren’t sent to our servers or any QR service.
