Privacy Policy

How Aqvinto handles information when you visit the website and use its tools.

Effective date:

Key points

  • Files and text you use in our PDF, image, text, developer, calculator and QR code tools are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to Aqvinto.
  • We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed and device information.
  • Our hosting provider, Vercel, receives standard technical information, such as IP addresses, when your browser requests pages.
  • There are no accounts and no advertising on Aqvinto today.

1.Introduction and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Aqvinto (“Aqvinto”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit www.aqvinto.com and use the tools on it (together, the “website”).

It applies only to this website. Other websites you reach through links from Aqvinto have their own privacy policies.

2.Information we collect

Aqvinto has no user accounts, sign-up forms or payments, so we don't ask for your name, email address or payment details to use the website. Different kinds of information are handled in different ways:

  • Content you use in tools. Files, text and values you enter into a tool are processed by code running in your browser and are not sent to Aqvinto. See How our tools process your input.
  • Usage data collected by Google Analytics. Information about the pages you visit and the device and browser you use, collected through cookies. See Google Analytics.
  • Hosting requests. When your browser requests a page or file from the website, our hosting provider, Vercel, receives standard technical information, such as your IP address, the address of the page requested, the date and time, and your browser's user agent string. This happens on almost every website and is needed to deliver pages. Whether this information is logged, and for how long, depends on Vercel's practices and our account settings.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and anything you attach, and we use them to reply to you. These messages are also processed by the email service that hosts our support mailbox.

3.Google Analytics and usage analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how many people visit Aqvinto, which tools they use and how they find the website. We use this information to decide what to improve and which tools to build next.

When you visit the website, a Google Analytics script loads in your browser and sends information to Google, including:

  • the pages you view, their titles and the website that referred you;
  • your device type, operating system, browser, screen size and language settings;
  • your approximate location (such as country or city), which Google derives from your IP address;
  • how you interact with pages, such as visits and time spent, and, depending on the settings in our Google Analytics account, other interactions that Google Analytics measures automatically;
  • a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie, which lets Google Analytics recognise repeat visits from the same browser.

To load the Google Analytics script and send this information, your browser makes network requests to Google, so Google receives your IP address as part of those requests. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Aqvinto's code does not send your name, email address or any user ID to Google, and it does not intentionally send the files, file names, text or values you use in our tools. Tool input is not placed in page addresses, so it is not part of the page information that Google Analytics records. Interactions that Google Analytics measures automatically, such as clicks, depend on our account settings.

Google Analytics only runs on the live website. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy and terms.

4.Cookies and similar technologies

Aqvinto's own code does not set cookies and does not store information in your browser's local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on our domain, including _ga and a cookie beginning with _ga_, which it uses to distinguish visitors and sessions. How long these cookies last is determined by Google Analytics settings.

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking Google Analytics cookies does not affect how our tools work. Like any website, your browser may also cache pages, scripts and images to load them faster on later visits.

5.How our tools process your input

Our tools are designed to run in your browser. On the website as it works today:

  • PDF tools (such as Merge PDF, Split PDF, PDF to Images and Images to PDF) read and create PDF files in your browser using JavaScript libraries that are part of the website. Some of this work runs in background browser threads (Web Workers) on your device.
  • Image tools (such as the image compressor, converter and resizer) decode and re-encode images in your browser using its built-in image and canvas features.
  • Text, developer and calculator tools and the QR code generator process what you type or paste in your browser. QR codes are generated on your device without using an external QR service.

Your files and input are not uploaded to Aqvinto's servers or sent to a third-party processing service. Some PDF tools download supporting files, such as fonts and image decoders, from our own website when they need them. Those requests do not contain your files.

Results are created in your browser's memory and saved to your device only when you choose to download them. Copy buttons write to your clipboard only when you click them; the website does not read your clipboard. Files and results held in the page are discarded by your browser when you close or reload it. Files you download are stored on your device and are under your control.

Browser extensions you have installed may be able to read the content of web pages, including pages on Aqvinto. That access is controlled by your browser and the extension, not by us. If we ever add a tool that needs to send data to a server, we will say so clearly on that tool's page and update this policy.

6.Third-party services and external links

The website currently relies on these third-party services:

  • Google Analytics (Google), for usage analytics, as described above.
  • Vercel, which hosts and delivers the website and receives the technical request information described in Information we collect.
  • Our email service provider, which receives and stores messages sent to support@aqvinto.com.

The website's fonts and the libraries our tools use are served from our own domain. We do not currently use social media widgets, embedded videos, chat widgets or other third-party embeds.

Advertising. Aqvinto does not currently display advertising. If we decide to introduce advertising in the future, we intend to update this policy before or when it begins to explain which provider is used, what information is collected and what choices you have.

The website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

7.Data retention and security

  • Tool content: because files and input are processed in your browser, we do not receive or keep them.
  • Analytics data: kept by Google in line with the data retention settings of our Google Analytics account and Google's policies.
  • Hosting data: any request logs are kept by Vercel according to its practices and our account settings.
  • Emails: kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and keep a record of our correspondence. You can ask us to delete your messages, and we will delete them from our mailbox. Copies may remain for a time in our email provider's systems according to its own practices.

The website is served over HTTPS, which encrypts information exchanged between your browser and the website. We also limit what we collect in the first place. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.Children's privacy

Aqvinto is a general-audience website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, please contact us and we will delete the information we hold.

9.Your choices and rights

You can limit the information collected about your visits:

  • Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Block or delete cookies, or use a content blocker or your browser's privacy features.
  • Use our tools without sending us any personal information; no account is needed.

Depending on where you live, data protection laws may give you rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to ask for information to confirm your request.

We do not hold your name or contact details unless you email us, and the Google Analytics reports available to Aqvinto do not show your name or email address. For analytics data, the opt-out options above are usually the most effective way to control what is collected. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10.International users

Aqvinto can be used from anywhere. Our service providers, including Google and Vercel, may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, our tools or the services we use change. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how information is handled, we will make it clear on this page.

12.Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how your information is handled, email us at support@aqvinto.com.
